From time to time I get questions related to casting and occasionally fencing and other items. Below are some of those questions and a few answers.

Where do you get your pewter casting materials?

Stone:

The Compleat Sculptor
www.sculpt.com
90 Vandam St.
New York, NY 10013
Phone:  1-800-9-SCULPT
Notes: I use African Wunderstone. Make sure that you order reasonably thick stone (.6"-.75”), preferably in small blocks that you can work or cut.  Ordering large stones to cut up may cause you difficulty.

Metal:

Rio Grande Jewelry Supply
www.riogrande.com
Phone:  800-545-6566
Notes:  Good for smaller orders of metal.  You will pay a little more though.  You will also need to set up an account for on-line ordering

Ney Metals & Alloys
www.neymetals.com
272 Georgia Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11207-4000
Phone: 800-777-7639
Notes:  Good for large orders of metal (25 lbs +).  By ordering in large amounts, you can get metals at discounted prices.  Get some friends together for an order.

Can I buy a token that you have already made?

Yes!.

Contact me and let me know what and how many.

Can I get you to make me a token/item?

Probably.

Most of my work I have been doing for various chapters of the SCA, but I do personal items as well. Just bear in mind that it may be expensive as you are paying for prep, carving, casting and cleanup. Contact me and I will let you know if I am available and to discuss an estimate.

Can you teach me how to cast?

Some.

I can teach you some of what I know but your best source is to find a Laurel. I know some, they know lots.

Forget the casting! What do I need to do to become a Provost?

Well....

Feel free to ask me and I will give you an opinion, which you may or may not like. Please note though that EVERY Provost will have a different view. My best suggestion is to be a great fencer, an asset to Atlantia both on and off the field, and an even greater person.
