My Alternative Lifestyle ...

I first got started with the SCA in college, but really got into it in 1998. I was working technical support at the time and a friend of mine who knew I fenced Olympic in college suggested I try SCA fencing as a way to blow off steam. I showed at the local Raleigh practice and, while it was a bit wierd at first, I had a really good time. I have been hooked on SCA fencing ever since, and love every chance I get to go out on the field with both my new and old friends.

I've been in the SCA since that first practice, enjoying my hobby and moving down "The Path" of becoming both a better SCAdian and a better person overall. I have learned how to be a good fencer, a better person, and to give back to both the fencing community and the SCA and the Kingdom of Atlantia itself. I've even broadened my horizons a bit, learning Armored Combat, metal working, and a tiny bit of drumming. Most of all the SCA lets me do what I do best, help out.
